Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and upgrade the database server and tools to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Control and monitor user access to the database.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance via query tuning and reducing long-running queries.
  • Plan for backup and recovery of database information.
  • Contact the database vendor for technical support when needed.

Additional Role Requirements:
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining data consistency across the database, ensuring data integrity and security, and planning, designing, and developing database maintenance procedures. The candidate will also assist the development team in designing the database based on business requirements.

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including query performance tuning, index maintenance, and database structure.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles and the ability to design, implement, and expand data pipelines.
  • Responsible for developing and documenting conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as implementing RDBMS, operational data stores, data marts, and data lakes on target platforms.
  • Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and optimize data query performance via best practices.
  • Maintain and improve existing processes.
