Linux System Administration Role

This position is ideal for an individual with extensive experience managing Linux operating systems. We seek a skilled system administrator to oversee the deployment and management of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering Linux environments including building and configuring virtual machines, installing software packages, managing user accounts and file permissions, and tuning system performance
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues, managing system services, and implementing security measures
  • Release management and patching of Linux systems
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking in LAN/WAN environments

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Linux system administrator or equivalent education/training
  • Strong understanding of Red Hat 6/7/8 and Cent OS
  • Nice to have: Additional Unix (Solaris/AIX) experience

Desirable Skills:

  • Shell scripting
  • LVM
  • TCP/UDP
  • SNMP
  • DNS
  • NFS
  • ssh
  • sudo
  • syslog

Education:

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ITIL and ticketing systems
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring systems
  • Relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure
