Credit Risk Management Lead

About the RoleWe are seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Management Lead to oversee our credit and collections operations in Hyderabad, India. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective credit risk management strategies to drive business growth while minimizing potential losses.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and process improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and approve or reject specific credit risk and limits of individual customers based on internal and external data in compliance with Global Credit Policy.
- Collaborate with business and finance leadership to analyze and classify political, economic, and country risk to determine their potential impact.
- Conduct customer visits to manage relationships with key and at-risk customers, fostering strong partnerships and driving revenue growth.
- Liaise with local Legal points of contact, leveraging internal/external lawyers and collection agencies to resolve disputes and recover debts.
- Owning collections and disputes with past dues items > 30 days, per escalation process, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing losses.
- Review, approve or reject Credit Analyst order release request based on Global Credit Policy requirements.
- Work with other organizations such as Customer Service, Sales and Master Data to support the AR team to resolve short payments, account reconciliation and other account issues.
- Set and deliver regional Credit and AR key performance indicators, in alignment with global objectives.
- Drive process integration and strong relationships with interdependent functions (i.e., Sales/Marketing, Customer Service, AP, GL). Liaison to local Sales and Marketing.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and Global Credit Policy.
- Complete bad debt and dispute reserve analysis and recommendation in compliance with the bad debt, dispute policy and procedure.
- Contact for Credit Reporting Agencies (Coface / Moody's etc.). Identify cost saving and other opportunities for improvement.
- Participate and lead global, regional, and functional project work.
- Conduct regional benchmarking.
- Lead regional fraud prevention initiatives.
- Consult with auditors at year end close.
