About the Role :

As a Staff Engineer in the Machine Learning team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining distributed backend systems to operationalise ML models built and trained by our data scientists. You'll work on developing and deploying low-latency and scalable containerised microservices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design software architectures, and participating in agile development teams that deliver value iteratively.

Responsibilities :

  1. Creating and maintaining distributed backend systems to operationalise ML models.
  2. Developing and deploying low-latency and scalable containerised microservices.
  3. Collaborating in cross-functional software architecture design sessions.
  4. Participating in agile development teams that deliver value iteratively.
  5. Building an MLOps platform to speed up the develop and deploy cycle and monitoring of models in production.
  6. Building complex batch and streaming data processing pipelines.
  7. Leading and mentoring a team of backend engineers.
  8. Collaborating with the product team to plan extensive roadmaps for new and existing initiatives.

Requirements :

  1. Strong backend development experience and exposure to system design.
  2. Extensive development experience in Python, including development of microservices using a web-framework.
  3. Experience in building data solutions, both batch processes and streaming applications.
  4. High development standards, especially for code quality, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration and deployment.
  5. Experience working in an agile team, dedicated to generating value in an iterative fashion.
  6. Business-level of English and good communication skills.
  7. Experience with Git, Docker, and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
  8. Exposure to Cloud providers - architecting solutions using managed services.
  9. Experience with event-driven systems, with experience in Kafka or similar technologies.

Nice to Have :

  1. Experience in batch processing/data frameworks.
  2. Experience working with machine learning models and putting them into production.
