Department Summary

Our Wireless Technology organization is driving the transformation of connectivity for the future. We're developing the nation's first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from the ground up. This network is designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our rapidly changing society, economy, and technology landscape.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deploy and support IMS and SDM network functions across a cutting-edge cloud-native standalone 5G SA network.
  • Engage with vendor personnel at Nokia, Mavenir, and Oracle to implement new services and features as well as upgrades.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to defined standards and best practices.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with strict deadlines, both as an individual contributor and team player.
  • Participates in knowledge transfer, documentation, and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas.
Skills, Experience, and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electronics/Computer Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of experience working within the Wireless industry on either the carrier or vendor side of the house.
  • Experience in implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying solutions in the 5G voice and packet core domain.
  • Hands-on experience with 5G/IMS network design and implementation, including how 5G differs in scope and technology from previous generations.
  • Knowledge and/or documented work experience in IMS and SDM NFs, including HSS/HLR/UDM/AUSF/UDR/SBC/CSCF/TAS/CNCS & Packet Core.
  • Familiar with containers and relevant technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, or Openshift.
  • Working knowledge of 3GPP 5G SA voice and packet core architecture.
  • Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD methodology. Proven work experience in 5G / CUPS / LTE.
  • Knowledge of Python scripting or any other scripting language (bash, Tcl).
  • Knowledge of Protocol Analysis, Wireshark, NetScout, RADCOM, or other similar tools.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently, innovative, and eager to learn state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
