Logistics Operations Manager

Job Description
Inventory Management:
- Optimize inventory levels to ensure efficient stock maintenance, coordinating with suppliers and warehouses as needed.
- Ensure inventory is stored correctly and easily accessible to streamline logistics operations.
Order Processing and Fulfillment:
- Oversee the accurate processing of customer orders and arrange timely dispatch.
- Coordinate with warehouses to pick, pack, and ship orders efficiently.
Transportation and Distribution:
- Plan and schedule shipments for products, negotiating with transport providers to secure best rates and timely deliveries.
- Monitor shipment movement and address any delays or issues promptly.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and production departments to ensure smooth flow of goods.
- Analyze and resolve supply chain issues, such as delays, discrepancies, or stock shortages, to maintain operational efficiency.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of transportation and import/export documentation.
- Stay updated on customs regulations, tariffs, and compliance requirements to maintain regulatory adherence.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to secure optimal partnerships.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors to achieve cost-effectiveness.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor logistics costs and identify areas for cost reduction to optimize budget allocation.
- Assist in budgeting for transportation, warehousing, and inventory expenses.
Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
- Swiftly resolve logistical issues, such as damaged goods, shipping delays, or customer complaints, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on logistics operations and performance metrics.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Technology and System Management:
- Utilize logistics software and tracking systems to monitor shipments, inventory, and deliveries efficiently.
- Stay updated with new technologies to streamline operations and improve productivity.
OKRs:
● Inventory / Logistics Costs: Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce logistics costs by 15% within 6 months.
● Customer Service Levels – D2C TAT: Achieve an average delivery time of 2-3 days for 80% of orders.
● B2B & EComm / QComm Deliveries: Ensure 99% on-time delivery for both B2B and e-commerce orders.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's in Engineering or Graduate's Degree in Operations or Business
● Proven working experience of 3+ years in logistics management, preferably with organizations like BlueDart, Gati, SafeEx
● Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff, ensuring seamless logistics operations
● Proficient in standard logistics software
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
● Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
