About the Role
Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager - Operations Service Desk to join our team. As a key member of our Global Services team, you will provide technical support to our customers and internal collaborators, ensuring seamless delivery of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Level 2 requests where Operational Service Desk (OSD) needs additional support in resolving the case
- Review any previous investigation conducted by OSD and identify additional steps required to provide an efficient resolution
- Coordinate internally with domain experts (SMEs) to ensure all responses provided meet Siemens Energy standards of safety, compliance, and quality
- Participate in and/or conduct process and design FMEA and RCA as a part of cross-functional team, as required
- Support reporting and monitoring of performance metrics by ensuring high responsiveness
- Analyze ticket data to identify patterns of most requested area of support by topic, fleet, customer, etc. Use this data to suggest design changes for product improvement to engineering
- Closely coordinate with remote diagnostics team to leverage available unit data in troubleshooting
- Constant engagement with the team to identify areas of improvement, cost out and standardization
- Coach and mentor other members of the team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 4 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with rotating equipment used in the industrial and oil and gas industry - steam turbine, gas turbine, turbo compressors, reciprocating compressors, etc.
- Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals with a good working knowledge of industry standards (API, ASME, with case management systems like Salesforce and document management systems like Globus, Teamcenter, etc.
- Knowledge of engineering document types, standards, and specifications, including the associated storage, retrieval, and revision methods
- Ability to communicate and convey ideas effectively to peers, suppliers and customers, and deliver technical presentations to customers and management
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform detailed engineering calculations
- Excellent social skills as well as professional appearance to ensure first class customer interaction
- Ability to act as lead for specified projects, and drive actions
- Ability to identify significant engineering issues and escalate accordingly
- Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
- Ability to assess technical risk based on available data and/or calculation results
- Sensitivity to factors that may have safety, commercial, and/or manufacturing consequences
- Knowledge and understanding of Siemens Energy products and services
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, site installation, field service, overhaul, and commissioning highly beneficial
- Willing to support field investigation
