Job Description: Solar Energy Project Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the company's strategy for project management, developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope. He/She will be the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization and timeline.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and improve working relationships with local authorities and discoms dealing with electricity transmission & distribution.
  • Responsible to monitor & follow-up the project cost and productivity to achieve / exceed target.
  • Support cash-flow situation (Timely delivery and proper invoicing).
  • Tendering / Contract management for EPC contracts for Rooftop Solar and Solar Pumps.
  • Arranging various permissions for PV Projects, wherever required.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement to develop preliminary design budget.
  • Prepare bid packages and procure materials and services as needed.
  • Organization of resources (Men, Material and Machines) to ensure delivery as per plan.
  • Development of Tools and Systems to effectively and efficiently manage the projects.
  • Monitoring Site progress daily and brief the top management clearly bringing out the risks involved, and support required from the top management.

  • Resolve cross functional conflicts and develop strong cross functional teams.
  • ROW (Concocted and real) Issues Management.
  • Weekly reviews with State Project Leads/ Head of EPC for compilation of Weekly Progress Report.
  • Ensure that the assets on hire if any are sweated to the utmost to extract maximum value.
  • Organize on the job training for Technical Manpower.
  • Ensure on time delivery of committed projects to avoid cost over runs.
  • Regular interaction with Project/Finance/Inventory/Logistics Team at HO to ensure that the requisite support and resources are in place.
  • Ensure own manpower and other workers on site follow work safety standards.
  • Ensure right quality the very first time to avoid/reduce the Cost of rework due to poor quality job.
  • Standardize storage and handling for sensitive and critical equipment.
  • Maintaining Records and databases.
  • Managing site surveys and technical studies performed by Third Parties (geotechnical, hydrological, topographical...).
  • Performing preliminary designs accordingly and optimizing them (Generation/storage Plant and interconnection), in compliance with local regulations, in order to achieve the optimum in terms of LCOE
  • Defining the project schedule
  • Managing Technical Due Diligences, with internal and/or external support, when needs be
  • Managing RFP, reviewing, clarifying and challenging EPC/BOS Contractors offers
  • Preparing and negotiating the procurement/supply contracts with contractors and equipment suppliers
  • Overall management of the EPC contractors. Interact with the Contracts Manager to ensure any potential contractual issues are pro-actively addressed.
  • Placing a constant and strong emphasis on HSE
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities throughout the execution period
  • During asset operation, he/she provides technical support to the Asset Management / O&M teams with a focus on technical scope.
  • Ensuring standardization of processes/procedures/templates related to his/her scope
  • Lessons Learned and keep up-to-date dedicated registers related to his/her scope
  • Developing and managing KPIs and continuous improvement activities related to his/her scope
  • Training and coaching more junior staff
