Piping Stress Engineer Job

Job Overview:

  • Perform comprehensive stress analysis utilizing industry-standard software, Caesar II, and design pipe supports for both above-ground and underground pipelines.
  • Identify essential data required for each project stage to conduct surge analysis.
  • Conduct thorough surge analysis of metallic and non-metallic piping using PIPENET software.
  • Extract surge force from PIPENET for input in stress analysis and verify appropriateness.
  • Prepare detailed surge analysis report as an official deliverable.
  • Analyze systems for pressure surges resulting from various events and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • Conduct technical reviews of stress analysis and pipe support calculations for compliance with industry standards and safe design practices.
  • Apply static and dynamic load cases in stress analysis.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain accurate pipe properties.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of design codes and standards for Pipe Stress Analysis (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ISO 14692).
  • Prepare job execution plans and work instructions/standard drawings based on ITB requirements.
  • Estimate man-hours for projects/proposal and other work share.
  • Allocate jobs to engineers and monitor progress regularly.
  • Control project schedule, quality, and budgeted MANHOUR.
  • Interact with clients/PMEs/vendors to resolve key issues.
  • Review vendor data and drawings for conformity to ITB requirements.
  • Initiate Value Engineering solutions and implement with approval from clients/PMEs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in stress analysis software, including Caesar II and PIPENET.
  • Strong understanding of ASME and ISO design codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of pipe materials and properties.
