Job Title: Taxation Expert

 

At our organization, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant with specialization in Direct Taxation to manage the organization's direct tax compliance, advisory, litigation, and planning activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns. Handle advance tax computations, tax provisioning, and TDS/TCS compliance. Ensure adherence to all direct tax regulations and timelines.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory: Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks. Analyze and interpret complex tax laws to provide practical solutions. Advise management on the tax implications of new business initiatives.
  • Assessment & Litigation: Represent the organization before tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and audits. Prepare responses to notices and handle tax scrutiny assessments. Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsel for high-stakes tax litigation.
  • Transfer Pricing: Ensure documentation and compliance related to transfer pricing regulations. Assist in preparing transfer pricing studies and dealing with international transactions.
  • Audit & Reporting: Assist in statutory and tax audits; coordinate with auditors and resolve queries. Prepare tax-related schedules and disclosures for financial statements. Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate their impact on the organization.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and business teams for tax-related matters. Support M&A, restructuring, and cross-border transactions from a tax perspective.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in direct taxation.
  • Strong understanding of Indian Income Tax Act, TDS provisions, and related regulations.
  • Experience in handling tax assessments, audits, and litigation.
  • Proficiency in tax computation software, MS Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in a top-tier consulting firm or large corporate tax department.
  • Exposure to international taxation and transfer pricing regulations.
  • Knowledge of automation tools for tax processes is a plus.
