Job Title: Power BI Lead

At MRI Software, we're seeking a talented Power BI Lead to join our team. As a key member of our analytics team, you'll be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and publish Power BI reports that meet business requirements.
  • Develop Power BI data models and recommend best practices for report creation and visualizations.
  • Implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
  • Integrate dashboards into applications using Embedded Analytics.
  • Collaborate with product owners to gather business requirements for analytics and reporting.
  • Provide guidance to BI developers in the team.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues and tune report performance.
  • Build and modify tables, views, and optimize SQL queries, indexes as needed.
  • Responsible for implementing security on developed dashboards in accordance with security and access requirements.
  • Ensure agile/scrum practices are followed during the development process.
  • Evaluate self-service reporting and dashboard tools.
  • Develop standard reports, custom reports, and DAX expressions as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience with Power BI reports development.
  • Experience in writing DAX expressions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting performance issues in reports.
  • Knowledge of query performance tuning, indexes, and database structure.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse.
  • Knowledge of various databases like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
  • SQL knowledge – experience in developing complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures.
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem-solving.
  • Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly.
