We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Backend Developer to join our team at Segwise. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing the server-side logic and integration with databases.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend elements, resulting in optimal performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Server-Side Logic: You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic and integration with databases.
  • Collaborate with Frontend Developers: You will collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Develop and Optimize APIs: You will develop and optimize APIs for internal and external use.
  • Create and Maintain Databases: You will create and maintain database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • Ensure Application Performance: You will ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and Fix Bugs: You will identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and maintain system stability.
  • Implement Security Measures: You will implement security and data protection measures.
  • Conduct Code Reviews: You will conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging.
  • Collaborate with the Team: You will collaborate with the team to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: You will stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Document Code: You will document code and technical designs.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: You will provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven Experience: You must have proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
  • Indepth Understanding: You must have an indepth understanding of web development and application architecture.
  • Programming Languages: You must have strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Database Management: You must have experience with database management using SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • API Development: You must have expertise in API development and integration.
  • System Architecture: You must have a solid understanding of system architecture and design patterns.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You must have the ability to solve complex problems and implement robust and scalable solutions.
  • Version Control Systems: You must have experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Security Best Practices: You must have knowledge of security best practices and implementation.
  • Agile Methodologies: You must be familiar with Agile methodologies and principles.
  • Communication Skills: You must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dynamic Environment: You must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Attention to Detail: You must have strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Desire to Learn: You must have a desire to learn and continuously improve technical skills.

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. This estimate is based on the national average salary for a Technical Backend Developer in the United States.
