Amazon is a leading e-commerce company that is heavily investing in building a world-class advertising business. We are seeking a talented Applied Science Manager to join our team and lead the development of novel scientific solutions for ads moderation and labelling.

The successful candidate will drive a science charter, lead a team of applied scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to define science strategies. They will be responsible for developing computer vision and machine learning models/methods, including deep learning models, generative AI-based models/solutions, large language models (LLMs), and vision language models (VLMs).

We require a highly motivated individual with 3+ years of experience in managing scientists or machine learning engineers. A PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications is preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing complex software systems involving deep learning, machine learning, and computer vision
  • Communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe software product features

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India offers a high cost of living, but also a competitive job market.
