Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead our AWS-based backoffice development team. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership for a diverse team of developers, both locally and internationally
  • Designing, implementing, and delivering cloud-based solutions using AWS services
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Providing technical guidance and direction to backend developers and testers
  • Architecting systems and APIs involving mobile apps and backend servers for Nielsen's major initiatives
  • Delivering quality products and deploying them across different world markets using best practices
  • Mentoring junior team members and driving innovation to achieve more efficient methodologies
  • Identifying and tracking technical debt and making plans to reduce it
  • Staying on top of industry trends and changes that may affect our processing systems or logic
  • Tracking and being accountable for the overall AWS cost of our systems and optimizing them to reduce cost and stay within set budget

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and delivering solutions in the cloud, with a strong focus on AWS services
  • Experience in technical leadership for a diverse team of developers, both locally and internationally
  • Strong architectural skills, including the ability to design highly available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems
  • Good knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, security groups, and data encryption methods
  • Experience in Agile software development methodology, including source control like Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Leadership skills, including commitment to excellence, accepting responsibility for results, and making quality decisions
  • Flexible to attempt alternate solutions to resolve issues and adjust to a dynamic, changing technical and business environment
