Job Description


At Advance Auto Parts, we seek a seasoned Solutions Architect to develop and implement cutting-edge enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microservices architecture, cloud computing, and Java development.


Key Responsibilities



  • Design and develop enterprise-scale solutions using microservices architecture and cloud computing platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and best practices for microservices implementation.
  • Lead the design and development of large-scale product architecture, including Java, microservices, and cloud-based environments.
  • Evaluate industry technologies and develop solutions that meet business requirements, considering factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, feasibility, performance, and usability.
  • Develop proof of concepts for new implementations and align with architecture group and enterprise standards.
  • Lead activities to build accelerators and tools to increase the quality of deliverables.
  • Identify challenges and suggest appropriate changes to solutions, considering technologies, integrated platforms, and systems to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Highlight design risks, provide alternative options, and recommend quality solutions to specified problems.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree and 11-15 years of technical experience in architecture development, integration of backend systems, and development.
  • Deep understanding of application, infrastructure, and security architecture, as well as non-functional aspects such as performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
  • Strong hands-on experience in developing applications using Java/J2EE, microservices, and Spring Boot framework, with knowledge and experience in AWS/Azure cloud development environments.
  • Experience in core Java fundamentals, Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, testing framework JUnit, Kafka, PostGRES, MQ, RESTful services, and design patterns.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Swagger specs for REST APIs, understanding of REST principles and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OAuth token-based authentication protocol.
  • Experience in designing and coding scalable microservices, developing solutions in AWS/Azure, and working with middleware/messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, Kafka, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Experience in writing deployment pipelines to deploy Java microservices in Kubernetes, comfortable implementing continuous integration/continuous delivery process using technologies such as Jenkins and Git.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, including writing and implementing automated unit, system, and integration tests.
  • Experience with Subversion (SVN) and Git source control, Maven and Ant, JIRA, Confluence, Grails, web security experience such as WS-Security, and Eclipse-based IDEs.
