Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Calix. This role is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining complex telecommunications networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and document existing telecommunications networks, creating detailed diagrams and specifications.
  • Design and implement new telecommunications networks, including the configuration of network equipment and services.
  • Provision and test telecommunications networks, ensuring they meet customer requirements and company standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation for network designs, configurations and procedures.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers on network design and implementation best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth network deployments and minimal downtime.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies to inform network design and implementation decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with telecommunications networks, including FTTP, xDSL, IP, voice, etc.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Word and Excel, as well as network management tools such as NetFlow and NTP.
  • Cisco CCNA or higher certification a plus.
