Investec Specialist Debt Financing Analyst

The Energy and Infrastructure team originates, distributes, and advises debt and advisory transactions for clients in the Energy and Infrastructure space. The team acts for clients in North America.
As a debt origination and portfolio management professional, you will support the Energy and Infrastructure team in origination and ongoing management of the portfolio. Your focus will be on supporting the team with internal monitoring and reporting requirements for the Energy and Infrastructure portfolio.
You will utilise asset-level information, including credit papers, finance, and project documents, plus output from Investec source systems to perform your role. Key responsibilities include:
- Information and financial covenant tracking and monitoring for the Energy and Infrastructure portfolio. This includes population of the internal covenant database, updating consolidated covenant tracking spreadsheets, following up on outstanding information with facility agents/borrowers, saving information to the relevant transaction folder, and reporting covenant breaches to the US-based Analyst & Portfolio Manager in a timely manner.
- Annual review: Supporting the US-based Analyst & Portfolio Manager with Annual review memo, including writing sections or complete annual review memo, including commentary on financial/operational performance, key risk/mitigants, rating recommendation, base case model update, and others.
- Preparation of operating, financial performance, covenant levels, and other tables/deal-level data for each transaction.
- For greenfield/construction assets, periodic monitoring of construction progress via review of the contractor/Lender Technical Adviser reporting. This includes review of actual costs against budget, including use of contingency, contractor expected completion date compared to original Contracted completion date, review of material risk issues. Summary report to be issued to the US-based Analyst & Portfolio Manager in a timely manner.
- Support the Energy and Infrastructure team by attending relevant internal meetings and actioning follow-ups as necessary, including weekly Energy and Infrastructure Team meetings, monthly GLO meetings.
- Other support activities associated with ongoing origination or portfolio management, including but not limited to: population of data for waivers/amendment papers, maintenance of portfolio-level static data, including main counterparties, collation of sustainability reporting information.
