Production Director

This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a results-driven approach in a high-volume garment manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly production target achievement in alignment with customer orders and business commitments.
  • Monitor line-wise productivity and take timely corrective measures to address shortfalls.
  • Support capacity planning and scheduling to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Oversee end-to-end operations across production, quality, maintenance, and material flow.

Implement process improvement methods to minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow across all production lines.

Ensure all products meet defined quality standards (AQL, buyer specifications).

Support regular in-line and end-line quality checks.

Ensure compliance with statutory norms, safety protocols, and labor laws.

Assist in improving cost efficiency and optimize usage of manpower, machinery, and materials.

Supervise and guide production supervisors, quality leads, and support staff.

Monitor individual and team performance against agreed KPIs.

Foster discipline, accountability, and a performance-driven culture.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and performance reports.

Closely coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education: B.Tech / B.E. (Textile / Garment Technology) or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 15 years in apparel manufacturing with significant exposure to high-volume production.

Proven experience in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing targets.

Sound knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, sewing line balancing, fabric types, trims, and finishing.

Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO quality systems is an advantage.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in tight timelines.
