Windows System Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Windows System Administrator to join our team at Unique HR Consultants. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our operating system environments, ensuring seamless performance and security.
Key Responsibilities- System Installation and Configuration
You will install, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring system and server configurations comply with security policies and best practices.
- Server Management
Manage and administer servers running Windows Server and various Linux distributions, monitoring server performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal operation.
- User Account Management
Create, modify, and delete user accounts as per access requirements, implementing and enforcing security policies for user authentication and access control.
- Patch Management
Apply patches, updates, and service packs to both Windows and Linux systems to address security vulnerabilities and enhance performance.
- Backup and Recovery
Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data, testing and verifying backups regularly to ensure data integrity.
- Network Administration
Configure and maintain network settings, including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing, troubleshooting network connectivity issues and optimizing network performance.
- Security Management
Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and potential threats, conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Monitoring and Reporting
Set up monitoring tools to track system performance, resource utilization, and security incidents, generating regular reports on system health, performance, and security.
- Collaboration and Documentation
Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to address cross-functional issues, maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Technical Support
Provide technical support to end-users and assist with problem resolution, responding to incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a system administrator, with expertise in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and security best practices.
- Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task scheduling.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Linux Professional Institute Certification) is a plus.
