Job Profile Summary

The Tax Specialist at Ryan works collaboratively with Team Lead, Consultants and Managers in India and US to oversee data extraction projects from invoices, identify and enter sales tax information from invoices to an access or excel database. The Specialist formats, thoroughly reviews, and reconciles the data with source data from the client.

Duties and Responsibilities, as they align to Ryan's Key Results

People:

  • Create a positive team experience.
  • Review work done by Tax Associates and Senior Tax Associates.

Client:

  • Provide proactive work status updates to US / India liaison.
  • Download and extract invoices from client networks.

Value:

  • Plan work allocation and manage projects on a day to day basis.
  • Identify and enter Tax paid details from the invoices into a database.
  • Reconcile the values from different data sources.
  • Prepare reports as per the requirements from consultants.
  • Analyze data from invoices and submit a summary report.
  • Perform quality assurance as required.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and training new hires.

Education and Experience:

  • Any bachelor's degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience.

Skills:

To perform the job successfully, the candidate should have an intermediate understanding of Tax and accounting concepts and excellent analytical & problem solving abilities. High attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines, and good communication skills are critical. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Internet navigation, and research is preferred. Ability to perform quality assurance review, prepare procedural documents, and metrics as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Current work hours are 2.00 PM to 11.00 PM, IST. Shift change is anticipated depending on US work hours/time zone and business need.
  • Candidate should be willing to work on any shift.
  • A reasonable amount of overtime will be required during peak season.
  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees in India and US both via email and telephone.
