Job Description

**Role Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced Substation Project Engineering Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality substation projects. As a seasoned professional, you will oversee the engineering activities of the project, ensuring timely completion within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Project Planning Manager to ensure project schedule alignment
  • Conduct regular project review meetings to monitor progress and adherence to schedule
  • Lead internal review meetings for resource optimization, allocation, and productivity enhancement
  • Review designs, calculations, and drawings for timely submission after customer approval
  • Clarify issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials at project sites
  • Multitask and deliver multiple projects on time
  • Clarify inter-discipline manager issues regarding design aspects of equipment
  • Enable and review accurate estimation for Bill of Materials submission
  • Review critical issues and procedural delays related to design aspects of equipment and provide support to Site Execution teams
  • Implement BIM in projects
  • Settle procurement issues and extend support to Supply Chain management for vendor engineering order finalization
  • Support BOQ review, pre-bid offers, and technical submissions, and provide post-tender clarifications to contracts teams
  • Lead and manage teams of Design Leads, Design Engineers, and Draughtspersons
  • Review vendor evaluation based on technical specification requirements of clients
  • Support Site Execution Teams for commercial issues and bill processing
  • Issue Manufacturing Clearance by undertaking necessary communication with suppliers
  • Communicate and clarify deliverable lists from clients and obtain resource requirements for projects

Technical Expertise:

The Project Engineering Manager shall have overall expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, with thorough understanding in design aspects of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 KV. They shall be proficient in selecting equipment such as Power Transformers, Reactors, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, and Instrument Transformers. The Manager shall be well-versed in Substation Primary and Secondary Design, including Earthing, Lighting, Lightning Protection, Cabling, and interfaces between Civil, MEP, and Instrumentation, as well as secondary engineering activities like Schemes, Wiring Diagrams, SCADA, and Control Systems.

Internally: Head of Engineering, Inter-discipline Heads, Project Execution team, Supply Chain Management team, Quality team, Contracts team

Externally: Customers (Engineering team), Client (Project Management team), Vendors (Engineering & Quality team)

Software Skills Required:

General awareness of MS Office, desirable awareness of ETAP, PSCAD & CYMGRD, and Project Planning

Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineer
