About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Food Systems Researcher. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team at WRI India, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable food systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finalization of the FOLU India Action Agenda, working closely with partners to develop a comprehensive document outlining key strategies and initiatives for sustainable food systems.
- Conduct research to prepare Terms of Reference for external authored reports, and develop high-quality proposals and concept notes for national and subnational events and initiatives.
- Support the drafting of reports, peer-review manuscripts, case studies, outreach materials, presentations, and blogs, ensuring clear and concise communication of complex information to diverse audiences.
- Maintain regular communication with FOLU India core partners and other project partners to stay informed about project developments and ensure timely reporting.
- Ensure effective communication, organizing meetings, events, and consultations, and work with the FOLU Project Management Unit (FOLU PMU) to develop a proposal for phase 3 of the programme.
- Identify fundraising opportunities and contribute to fundraising efforts, including pitching ideas, writing proposals, and developing multi-year project proposals.
Requirements
- Masters or equivalent degree in a related field, such as agriculture, environmental conservation, or natural resource management.
- Minimum of six years' experience in data analysis and scientific writing, including technical reports, research articles, review articles, proposals, pitch decks, and popular articles.
- Experience in project design, implementation, and management, with a strong understanding of food and land use systems and familiarity with agriculture, food, and land use-related policies and schemes in India.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work with efficiency, particularly as part of a team effort, and to take the initiative and work with minimal oversight.
