Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Administrator to join our team at HDFC Securities Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the uptime and incident management of defined IT applications, as well as administering and managing applications running under Linux, AIX, Solaris, and Windows-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the uptime and incident management of defined IT applications
  • Administer and manage applications running under Linux, AIX, Solaris, and Windows-based systems
  • Identify the root causes of incidents to prevent future recurrence
  • Monitor applications and databases for system behavior and analyze performance, errors, and notifications
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors and other teams to resolve application and interface issues
  • Deploy and move application code, bug fixes, and data patches in Production, SIT, and UAT environments
  • Execute OS and DB patching for defined IT applications
  • Work on assigned projects and tasks as assigned by management and team leaders
  • Conduct regular bug and issue tracker review meetings and coordinate with vendors and BSG for problem resolution
  • Coordinate the review, presentation, and release of all SLA deliverables and documentation
  • Ensure team members and vendors perform delegated tasks according to set timelines
  • Prepare application process documents and KB documents
  • Assist the team in achieving best possible design solutions for functional requirements
  • Collect necessary data for MIS preparation
  • Attend Change Control Board meetings and plan production movements
  • Review and publish KB documents to the IT Operations Team
  • Report daily activities to the Project Manager and escalate issues as necessary

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in Linux, UNIX, and Oracle platforms, preferably in the BFSI segment
  • Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, monitoring, and management of applications and databases in Linux and UNIX systems
  • Experience in application server log analysis, troubleshooting, management, and problem-solving
  • Experience in managing MEAP services and deploying and managing application servers, back-end services, and mobile applications
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux, Unix, Solaris, and Windows operating systems and applications
  • Excellent knowledge of Web-App servers, RDBMS, and SQL query
  • Good skills in PL/SQL, Linux scripting languages, and shell scripting
  • Basic networking knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness or exposure to the BFSI segment is a plus
