- Keep the Chief Engineer informed of all activities and incidents in the Engineering Department.
- Collaborate with external agencies and vendors for repair and maintenance work.
- Evaluate the quality of engineering goods procured by the organization.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of firefighting appliances.
- Represent the Engineering Department in HOD meetings during the Chief Engineer's absence.
- Make informed decisions to ensure successful operations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies.
- Effectively manage vendors.
- Finalize quotations.
- Monitor and record utility consumption and assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining efficiency.
- Maintain a history card for all plant equipment.
- Provide supervision and leadership to colleagues in the Technical Services Department.
- Coordinate the technical services department daily.
- Advise on duty rosters for the team.
- Have a good understanding of Capex and Opex items.
- Prepare reports, maintain inventories, and keep accurate records of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure the correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with other user departments.
- Stay up-to-date with technological advancements in surveillance and safety of equipment.
- Promptly notify the Technical Supervisor of operational issues.
- Regularly inspect the working condition of equipment and engineering systems to ensure standards are met.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management as needed.
Requirements:
- General knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen, and other trades.
- Proficiency in Windows PMS and MS Office applications.
- Good knowledge of fire and life safety processes and procedures.
- Excellent command of the English language (oral and written).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical services.
- Able to train, coach, and develop team members.
