Financial Transactions Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Transactions Coordinator to join our finance team and contribute to our mission.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, a passion for working in the nonprofit sector, and a commitment to ensuring financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.

Budget and Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual expenses and report discrepancies.
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing financial statements and audits.

Donor and Grant Management:

  • Record and track donations, grants, and other funding sources.
  • Prepare donor reports and ensure compliance with donor restrictions.
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements and documentation.

Compliance and Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Support compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain organized and accessible financial documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
