Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
- Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.
Budget and Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor budget vs. actual expenses and report discrepancies.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing financial statements and audits.
Donor and Grant Management:
- Record and track donations, grants, and other funding sources.
- Prepare donor reports and ensure compliance with donor restrictions.
- Assist with grant reporting requirements and documentation.
Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Support compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Maintain organized and accessible financial documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
