Vertafore India is seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Test Engineer

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing, software development, and quality engineering. They will be responsible for developing new features, maintaining performance testing tools, creating valuable artefacts, mentoring team members, and troubleshooting issues across the performance stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently across various functional and technical areas using performance testing tools.
  • Develop new features and maintain performance testing tools.
  • Create valuable documents, particularly performance and endurance test results, for the team.
  • Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Adhere to established software design patterns.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the performance stack, including testing framework, CI environment, database, and network.
  • Provide feedback in performance code reviews regarding adherence to patterns, design, and valid development practices for the testing product and coding language.
  • Generate or oversee the generation of data from statistical analysis performed on testing results across various performance products.

Performance Test Strategy and Execution:

  • Define and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies covering key areas such as load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability tests.
  • Simulate real-world scenarios to evaluate system performance, ensuring the application's smooth functioning under various conditions.
  • Work closely with infrastructure teams to understand and define capacity requirements for the application(s).
  • Benchmark the application's critical operations to set targets and evaluate future enhancements.

Performance Analysis and Root Cause Identification:

  • Analyze test results using APM tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics, identifying root causes of performance issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Guide the development team in optimizing code and enhancing system architecture.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of experience in performance test design, development, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong experience in Jmeter, Locust, and performance analysis.
  • Experience in Grafana and Dynatrace.
  • 2 or more years of professional experience generating and employing SQL scripts.
  • Experience in GIT and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
