The Role

As a key member of the AspenTech India team, you will be responsible for fully understanding the company's plans for project delivery in India and helping senior management achieve its vision for a high-quality, efficient, and effective project management capability. Your primary objective will be to develop an effective project delivery team at AspenTech India, including short- and long-term plans for maintaining an effective organization aligned with corporate goals and vision for AspenTech India. Additionally, you will be responsible for extending the capability to support projects and other technical and support functions throughout the rest of the world. You will also build organization capability in the project engineering team, including staffing and succession planning, employee goals setting, job performance evaluation, employee development, employee motivation, and communication. You will proactively manage and develop all direct reports, drive good cultural, organizational, and technical/procedural alignment between AspenTech US and AspenTech India, and devise, measure, and track key performance metrics for the team and individual that relate directly to the goals of the department, team, and company. You will ensure appropriate plans to achieve all project milestones, quality gates, and dates of interest are on schedule. You will proactively identify, mitigate, and elevate issues/risks to senior management in a timely manner. You will ensure appropriate Project Management procedures are in place for effective project execution, and ensure that appropriate processes exist and are followed for the effective implementation of customer projects, including thorough management of the change control process. You will facilitate effective project closures, a smooth transition to the Customer Support team, and commencement of the warranty services. You will solicit customer feedback and lessons learned on every closed project and report to senior management. You will participate in Business Development and Contract Development activities as needed.

What You'll Need

  1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. 10+ years relevant experience managing technical projects.
  3. Proven success in technical project management, project scheduling, vendor management, and customer satisfaction.
  4. Effective employee management and exceptional leadership skills.
  5. Strategic abilities to reach corporate goals by developing concise tactical plans.
  6. Ability to create and document a plan.
  7. Ability to organize work in a way that supports effective prioritization, completion, and corporate visibility.
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  10. Excellent common sense and business savvy professional.
  11. 8+ years of work experience in the utility industry.
  12. Knowledge of electrical utility operations and capabilities and use of SCADA or EMS or DMS products.
