About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Manager to lead our team in designing and building scalable data systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain our operations data mart, ensuring a stable reporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to design and maintain operations data mart (ETL, data modeling, metric design, reporting)
  • Take on research projects to improve data processing and machine learning frameworks used by our team
  • Promote Data Engineering best practices within the team
  • Introduce new skills and knowledge into the team
  • Develop team members to share knowledge and best practices
  • Design effective software solutions understanding business and technical requirements
  • Create conceptual architectures and detailed designs for software solutions
  • Build data pipelines to ingest and transform data into our Data platform
  • Apply large-scale data movement strategies and incremental data load approaches
  • Develop, implement, and tune distributed systems and pipelines processing large volumes of data
  • Assist Data Science/Modeling teams in setting up data pipelines and monitoring daily jobs
  • Develop and test ETL components to high standards of data quality

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in data engineering role in analytics environment
  • Comfortable coding in Python and advanced SQL
  • 5+ years of experience in big data engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (Computer Science preferred); Master's degree is a plus
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS like Oracle, Teradata, SQL server etc.
  • Expertise in building data pipelines in Big data platforms; Good understanding of Data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of Shell scripting, SQL, Python & standard data science packages
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP exposure would be a plus)
  • Strong verbal and business communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated aptitude for analytics that incite action
