Digital IC Design at ADI:

We specialize in bridging the real world to the digital world, also referred to as 'the edge'. Our Digital Design engineers develop digital designs that meet specifications, work flawlessly in a product team's system, and are optimally manufacturable and testable.

Position Overview:

As ADI grows its capability in edge processing technology, we need a Staff Digital Design Engineer who will work with a multi-functional engineering team to design, develop, and productize digital processing subsystems. This role involves pushing the envelope of our edge processing capability using agile development techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Micro-architects/RTL developers working on an SoC.
  • Work closely with the architecture team to develop detailed development plans.
  • Participate in design specification, micro-architecture, and verification sign-off reviews.
  • Collaborate with the verification team for complex debugs to resolve verification failures.
  • Improve flows and methodologies to streamline IP development and integration.
  • Execute personnel management responsibilities such as quarterly reviews, career counseling, and staff planning.
  • Build development teams, including recruiting and interviewing.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design.
  • A strong engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC micro-architecture, computer architecture, SoC architecture, and custom or standard DSP or hardware accelerator micro-architecture.
  • Experience in FPGA emulation system design, preferably including pre-silicon system validation, prototype bring-up, debug, validation, characterization, and module integration support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills.
  • A deep understanding of both SoC design flow and embedded software development processes.
  • Must have experience working with geographically disbursed design teams.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience with silicon and software product development and understanding the product development lifecycle.
  • Detailed knowledge of ARM and/or RISC-V processor subsystem architectures, on-chip interconnects, and advanced debug and trace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to clearly articulate the team's mission.
  • Able to function as a member of a team and share knowledge.
