Tax Professional for Sales and Use Tax Compliance

About the Role
As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting tax compliance and reporting, with a primary focus on general tax work. Specifically, this position emphasizes Sales and Use Tax, an important function within the team.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with 1-3 years of general accounting experience to join our growing Tax team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting principles and be motivated to expand their knowledge of tax laws and compliance, including sales and use tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of various tax returns, focusing on sales and use tax for multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the preparation and reconciliation of tax provision calculations.
- Help with audits and requests from state and local taxing authorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all tax-related transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Accounting, etc.) to ensure accurate and efficient tax compliance.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements related to tax.
- Stay informed on tax law changes, particularly in the area of sales and use tax, and assist in implementing necessary process updates.
- Identify and recommend improvements in processes for greater efficiency and compliance.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is ₹850,000 per annum, considering the location in Bangalore and the required skills and qualifications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of general accounting or tax experience (required)
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present clear findings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
