Job Title

Deputy Manager Engineering

Areas of Responsibility
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel that align with Radisson's mission, vision, values, and strategies.
  • Develops and implements plans to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Regularly monitors progress and adjusts strategies and programs as necessary.
  • Directs the operation of the Engineering Department and ensures its smooth functioning.
  • Develops and coordinates maintenance and renovation plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety standards.
  • Identifies and selects vendors suitable for hotel operations.
  • Ensures a safe environment for guests and employees by maintaining hotel facilities in accordance with safety standards.
  • Acts as project manager for hotel renovations, coordinating project status with corporate technical services, architects, licensing agencies, contractors, and hotel management.
  • Evaluates forecasted business and projects, scheduling staff accordingly to meet operational needs.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and safety standards by collaborating with government and insurance inspectors and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintains up-to-date mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints.
  • Ensures staff is adequately trained and certified to maintain operating systems and equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 10-14 years of work experience in the hotel industry, preferably in Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, including resolving issues with guests, supervisors, and employees.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to foster teamwork and cooperation.
  • Advanced knowledge of building management and engineering principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • General understanding of insurance requirements and regulations.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and life safety operating systems.
