Your day at NTT DATA

The Cloud Managed Services Engineer (L2) is responsible for proactively monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving cloud-based incidents, service requests, and alerts. This role focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity, ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of clients' cloud infrastructure and services.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitors work queues to identify potential issues
  • Performs operational tasks to resolve incidents and requests in a timely manner, adhering to agreed SLAs
  • Updates tickets with resolution tasks performed, ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Identifies, investigates, and analyzes issues and errors prior to or when they occur, logging all incidents in a timely manner
  • Captures all required and relevant information for immediate resolution, ensuring efficient issue resolution
  • Provides second-level support to all incidents, requests, and identifies the root cause of incidents and problems
  • Communicates with other teams and clients to extend support, ensuring seamless collaboration
  • Executes changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans, capturing all changes in the change record
  • Follows the shift handover process, highlighting key tickets and upcoming critical tasks for the next shift
  • Escalates all tickets to seek the right focus from CoE and other teams, if needed, continuing escalations to management
  • Works with automation teams to optimize effort and automate routine tasks, improving overall efficiency
  • Coaches Service Desk and L1 teams for technical and behavioral skills, ensuring knowledge sharing and growth
  • Establishes monitoring for client infrastructure, identifying potential issues before they impact service
  • Leads and manages all initial client escalation for operational issues, ensuring prompt resolution
  • Contributes to the change management process, logging all change requests with complete details for standard and non-standard changes, including patching and other changes to Configuration Items
  • Ensures all changes are carried out with proper change approvals, adhering to governance policies
  • Plans and executes approved maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to services
  • Audits and analyzes incident and request tickets for quality, recommending improvements and updates to knowledge articles
  • Produces trend analysis reports to identify tasks for automation, leading to a reduction in tickets and optimization of effort
  • May also contribute to or support project work as and when required
  • May work on implementing and delivering Disaster Recovery functions and tests

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience)
  • Certifications relevant to the services provided (certifications carry additional weightage on a candidate's qualification for the role)
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified: Solutions Architect Associate, Veeam Certified Engineer, VMware certified Professional: Data Centre Virtualization, Zerto, pure, vxrail, Google Cloud Platform (gcp), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (oci)

Required Experience:

  • Moderate years of relevant managed services experience
  • Moderate level knowledge in ticketing tools preferably Service Now
  • Moderate-level experience managing platforms including a combination of the following: Windows Server Administration, Linux Server Administration, Virtualization Administration, Server Hardware and Storage Administration
  • Moderate level knowledge of management agents, redundancy concepts, and products within the supported technical domain (i.e. Network, Data Centre, Telephony, Exchange, Storage, Cloud, Backup, etc.)
