Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing Specialist

Job Role: VAPT Engineer

Responsibilities:

* Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments of applications and network devices using various open-source and commercial tools to identify potential security risks.
* Perform penetration testing and launch exploits using Burpsuite, Nessus, and other penetration testing distribution tools to simulate real-world attacks.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in application and computer network vulnerabilities, data hiding, network security, and encryption.
* Analyze scan reports and provide recommendations for remediation and mitigation plans to ensure the security of our systems.
* Monitor new vulnerabilities on various network and security devices from different vendors to ensure our systems remain secure.

Pre-Requisites:

* Experience in application and network vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
* Proficiency in tools such as Nessus, NMAP, Metasploit, Burpsuite, OWASP Zap, and similar.
* Knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, IPS, VPN, and gateway security solutions.
* In-depth understanding of Common Vulnerability Exposure (CVE) and Cert advisory databases.
* Self-motivated and able to deliver results under defined timelines.

Requirements:

* Certifications such as CEH, CPT, CISM, and CISSP are preferred.
* At least 1-2 years of experience in the field of IT security services.
* Graduate degree in a relevant field.
* Broad background in networks, operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux), firewalls, and security engineering concepts.
* Knowledge of scripting languages such as C++, C#, Perl, CGI, HTML, Java, TCL, and Shell is an added advantage.
