About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Innovation Leader - Software Development to join our team at Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Job Description

This position involves designing, developing, and implementing complex software systems using Java 11 and other development languages. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into technical software designs. Your expertise in data manipulation languages, including optimization techniques, will be essential in building efficient and scalable software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex software systems using Java 11 and other development languages.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into technical software designs.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software code, following industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with other technical personnel to finalize requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure software meets required specifications.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior software developers to help them grow in their roles.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on Java development.
  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation languages, including optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with Java development tools, such as Spring and Maven.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
