About the team:

The IMCS DBA team operates within Managed Cloud Services, providing support to 30+ MSP customers. As a shared model DBA team, we are responsible for the maintenance of Oracle Server databases, including security, backup, reporting, and recovery procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Oracle Server databases, including security, backup, reporting, and recovery procedures.
  • Core Oracle DBA activities for Oracle 10G/11g/12c/19c & 23c, including error diagnosis and handling.
  • Creation, building, and upgrading of instances and databases.
  • Oracle database build using ASM on RAC/non-RAC.
  • Management and troubleshooting of L3 tasks independently.
  • Performance tuning, scripting knowledge.
  • Sharing domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship.
  • Database security patch application.
  • Troubleshooting DB – Crash.
  • Rebuilding Database due to Incident.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases, including rollout and upgrades.
  • Cross-training to support SQL in terms of maintenance of physical database structures and associated hardware, network, and system configurations.
  • Provides hands-on technical expertise, provides senior-level technical guidance to team members. Knowledge of SQL DB is preferable.
  • Provide day-to-day database management and support, including overseeing and guiding team members.
  • Monitoring the system's health and performance.
  • Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security of databases.
  • Conducting regular testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
  • Analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real-time.
  • Providing suggestions for solutions.
  • Automatic Tuning, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) & Point-in-Time Restore.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a database system.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery strategies.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and testing database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Managing the database capacity to ensure that it can meet the needs of the organization.
  • Leading the set-up, testing, and deployment of new databases, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
  • Mentoring junior DBAs on the team.
  • Providing 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Must have experience with Data guard, RMAN, Goldengate, Exadata.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
  • Strong command of Oracle and Oracle server tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) certification.
  • Must have experience with Data guard, RMAN, Goldengate, Exadata.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving database-related issues.
  • Knowledge of SQL (Secondary).
