Job Description

Our organization seeks a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) expert to spearhead our sustainability initiatives. This role requires a highly motivated professional with exceptional leadership skills to develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices, with a minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE management preferably in the metal & mining industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field is mandatory.
  • A recognized Safety officer certification as per Odisha Factory Act is essential.

This position demands a high level of expertise in risk assessments, compliance management, emergency response planning, training program development, and performance indicator tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
  2. Ensure compliance with all applicable Acts, HSE regulations, standards, and permits.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  4. Investigate and analyze incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  5. Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct regular drills, and ensure the organization is prepared to handle emergencies effectively.
  6. Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  7. Track and report on key HSE performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  8. Foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance through initiatives such as audits, inspections, and benchmarking.
  9. Liaise and foster strong communication channels and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE management preferably in the metal & mining industry.
  • A recognized Safety officer certification as per Odisha Factory Act.
  • Strong knowledge of Factory Act, Environmental guidelines, HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience in green field/brown field expansion projects.
  • Experience in environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
