We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Lead to join our team at Torry Harris Business Solutions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in IBM technologies, including IBM ACE, IBM API Connect, and IBM MQ/RDQM, as well as strong cloud application development skills.

This role involves guiding and mentoring teams in delivering high-quality solutions, ensuring that solutions are aligned with business objectives and cloud best practices. The Software Engineering Lead will be responsible for designing and architecting scalable and robust solutions, conducting technical reviews, and providing feedback to ensure adherence to architectural standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cloud application development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically about architectural challenges. They will also possess strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the Software Engineering Lead include:

  • Designing and architecting scalable and robust solutions using IBM ACE, API Connect, and MQ/RDQM
  • Ensuring that solutions are aligned with business objectives and cloud best practices
  • Mentoring and guiding development teams in implementing solutions
  • Conducting technical reviews and providing feedback
  • Collaborating with sales and pre-sales teams to understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate architectural strategies and proposals
  • Creating and maintaining architectural documentation, including design specifications, implementation guides, and best practices
  • Developing technical proposals and responses for RFPs related to IBM technologies
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and updates in IBM technologies and cloud application development
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to enhance performance and scalability of existing solutions
