Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Security Engineer to join our team at Guidewire. As a Staff Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining, promoting, and implementing security best practices that improve the security posture of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with teams across the organization to define and implement security best practices.
  • Work closely with business units, product teams, and DevOps engineers to embed security requirements and controls into DevOps environments and Cloud platforms.
  • Architect, configure, operate, and maintain infrastructure, network, and supporting software related to the cloud and application infrastructure.
  • Represent the Security Team in Security and Change Management Review Boards.
  • Act as a hands-on technical Security SME, handling complex and detailed technical work necessary to establish and maintain secure cloud environments.
  • Owning and leading major initiatives and projects geared towards improving security posture.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the security program through publication and presentations.
  • Provide on-call support and support Incident Response Team.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Information Security, with a focus on DevSecOps.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience of secure product development and engineering practices, including threat modeling, secure design principles, and secure coding.
  • Extensive knowledge of attacker tools, techniques, and processes, and an array of defenses and mitigations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security controls and security standard methodologies for Windows, Linux, and Mac systems.
  • Proficiency in core security concepts, including cloud skills, networking, and architecture.
  • Prior experience working closely with product and DevOps Engineers and/or SRE's on security requirements.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex security concepts in simple business terms.
