HARMAN International is seeking an experienced Software Compliance Engineer - FOSS Expert to join our team. As a key member of our software development lifecycle, you will ensure that all open-source components used in our products meet the highest standards of compliance and integrity.

With 5-6 years of experience in free and open-source software (FOSS), you will leverage your expertise to identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks associated with FOSS components. Your strong understanding of FOSS licenses and obligations will enable you to collaborate effectively with our internal and external legal teams.

As a subject matter expert in FOSS-related aspects of continuous integration (CI) pipelines, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring delivery of FOSS components in related CI pipelines;
  • Supervising and consulting daily builds on FOSS compliance;
  • Conducting Open-Source Components Compliance reviews in any development phase in the CI pipeline;
  • Mediating open-source license issues/conflicts with the help of the internal and external legal department;
  • Identifying the open-source scope of each individual project, including vendor FOSS, obtaining documentation, and adapting formats to suit client needs.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant experience in FOSS (5-6 years);
  • Good understanding of FOSS licenses and obligations to discuss with Legal counsels;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • BASIC programming knowledge of Java & Python;
  • Proven experience in SDLC (3+ years).
