Overview

: At symplr, we are seeking an experienced and skilled SAFe Program Manager to lead the successful implementation of our large-scale agile initiatives using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This role requires a deep understanding of SAFe principles and practices, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of driving complex programs to successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: As a Strategic Agile Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading and guiding the implementation of multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This involves providing strategic direction, setting priorities, and ensuring effective collaboration among teams, stakeholders, and leaders.
  • Collaboration: To foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, you will work closely with Agile teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders involved in the program. Your goal is to create an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered, and motivated to contribute their best work.
  • Communication: Effective communication is critical to success in this role. You will facilitate regular meetings, updates, and information sharing across teams, ensuring transparency and clarity in program goals, progress, and challenges. This includes developing and communicating clear project plans, tracking progress, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Risk Management: As a SAFe Program Manager, you will identify, assess, and proactively manage program-level risks, issues, and impediments. This involves developing mitigation strategies, implementing corrective actions, and monitoring progress to ensure that risks do not impact the program's overall success.
  • Continuous Improvement: We strive for excellence at symplr, and as a Strategic Agile Program Manager, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement in processes, practices, and workflows across the program. This includes collaborating with teams and stakeholders to develop and implement improvements, measuring the effectiveness of these changes, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Metrics and Reporting: To measure success and inform decision-making, you will establish relevant metrics and reporting mechanisms to track program progress. This includes developing dashboards, reports, and other tools to help stakeholders understand the program's performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at various levels is essential to the success of this role. As a SAFe Program Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns, ensuring their engagement and support throughout the program lifecycle.

Adherence to SAFe: To ensure consistency across the program, you will ensure that SAFe principles, methodologies, and best practices are followed consistently across the program.

As a Strategic Agile Program Manager at symplr, you can expect a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, a SAFe certification, and 10 years of experience in program management, with 5 years of experience focused on leading and implementing agile initiatives using the SAFe framework. A strong understanding of agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, is also required.
