Our team manages best-in-class data quality measurement programs and offers enterprise-level data management solutions. We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support our data ownership program.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage data strategies, target states, and define data controls throughout the data life cycle.
  • Define enterprise-level data domains, taxonomy, and data classification.
  • Develop data ownership procedures and enforce data standards.
  • Set up data usage frameworks, including access controls, usage, sharing, and defining purpose of data and data retention guidelines.
  • Identify critical data elements and define data ownership (technical/business).
  • Review data concerns and develop data remediation strategies.
  • Certify data based on fit for purpose and ensure data meets consumer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with global and local laws and regulations.
  • Guide data stewards in implementing data governance policies and data operating models.

Required skills:

  • Requirements gathering from data consumers on data requirements.
  • Define data controls requirements.
  • Document data usage and sharing agreements.
  • Understand metadata – lineage, definitions, and trusted data sources.
  • Search and consolidate critical data elements information in metadata tools.
  • Review metadata and highlight gaps.
  • Consolidate data concerns for each use case or project.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
  • Drive remediation strategies and collaborate with technology/data stewards.
  • Track KPI progress for critical milestones.

Domain skills:

  • Banking domain (cards, deposit, loans, wealth management, and insurance).
  • Audit framework.
  • Data quality and governance framework.
  • Metadata management.
  • Risk and control metrics.

Preferred skills:

  • Exposure to business intelligence tools and technologies.
  • Automation and process re-engineering/optimization skills.

Soft skills:

  • Identify, articulate, and solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Work across multiple functional areas.
  • Thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives.

Education and experience:

  • MBA/Masters in Economics/Information Technology/Computer Applications/Engineering from a premier institute.
  • BTech in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Applications.
  • 5-8 years of experience in delivering data governance solutions, with at least 2 years in the banking industry.
