Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Rust developer to join our team at Basis Cloud Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance systems and applications using Rust.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced developers to contribute to the development of scalable and maintainable solutions while continuously improving their skills and contributing to the Rust ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rust Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems and applications using Rust.
  • System Architecture: Collaborate with architects and senior developers to design and implement scalable and efficient backend systems and services.
  • Optimization: Work on performance-critical code, identifying and optimizing bottlenecks to improve system efficiency and latency.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code while following best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Testing and Debugging: Implement automated tests, debug complex issues, and ensure the robustness of the software through thorough testing and validation.
  • Security: Ensure the security of your applications and the entire system by following security best practices and performing regular security audits.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong focus on Rust.
  • A deep understanding of Rust programming language features, libraries, and tooling, with practical experience in developing production-grade applications.
  • A solid understanding of Rust's concurrency model and asynchronous programming concepts (async/await).
  • Experience with designing scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Familiarity with Rust's package manager (Cargo), testing frameworks (e.g., Rust's built-in test library, or others), and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Proven ability to optimize system performance, reduce memory footprint, and fine-tune execution for large-scale applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with product managers, backend developers, and other stakeholders.
