Job Summary

We seek an experienced professional to lead our Adaptive Technology - Agriculture (ATA) program, which identifies and promotes sustainable agricultural practices for small and marginal farmers in India. The successful candidate will improve the livelihoods of farmers, including women producers, by enhancing crop yields, conserving water, and improving input use efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and validate digital agriculture technologies for small and marginal farmers to enhance adoption and scaling up of water use efficiency, e-extension, market connectivity, precision farming, crop production, digital marketplaces, and climate resilience technologies.
  • Conduct pilot demonstrations of successful models/technologies at project locations.
  • Strengthen linkages with research and extension institutes to scale up successful models/technologies.
  • Build the technical capacity of the project team for scaling up successful models.
  • Establish linkages with other NGOs, corporate, and research institutions for scaling successful technologies and models.
  • Write research papers, articles, and working papers for internal and external research journals.
  • Undertake external validation of tested technologies to ensure proof of concept and sustained impact.
  • Represent successful technologies and practices at workshops and conferences.
Requirements
  • PhD/MSc in Agriculture with specialization in soil science/agronomy/digital agriculture.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in using AI/IT/ICT/digital applications/innovations in agriculture.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology-led innovation in agriculture.
