Company Overview

TransPerfect, a global leader in the industry, seeks an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and integrity of our voice, data, video, and wireless network services.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Implementation

  • Collaborate with department heads to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, hubs, switches, firewalls, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Operational Management

  • Configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling objectives and processes.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
  • Prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, Juniper switches, and Cisco AIR and Catalyst Wifi.
  • Familiarity with network capacity planning, security principles, and general management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present ideas clearly.
