Principal Data Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

As a seasoned data engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our organization's data warehouse team. You will mentor senior engineers and engage directly with clients to drive large-scale data initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in data engineering with 4+ years leading teams. They possess strong coding expertise in Python, JVM, and Shell scripting, as well as production-grade experience.

Additionally, they should have 5+ years in cloud-native, data-intensive applications with mandatory AWS expertise.

  • Building a holistic roadmap for our data warehouse offerings
  • Solving complex data modeling challenges
  • Ensuring smooth delivery of features
  • Applying modern marketing data suites
Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong coding expertise: Python, JVM, and Shell scripting
  • 5+ years in cloud-native, data-intensive applications with mandatory AWS expertise
  • Proven experience in Data Warehouse design & development using modern DW tools
  • Hands-on with Databricks and dbt (mandatory)
  • Expert in Airflow (workflow orchestration)
  • Strong experience building & maintaining Spark applications
  • Deep understanding of file formats: Parquet, Delta Lake, OTFs
  • Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD)
