We are currently seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our team, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain high-performance databases in the AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database administration, as well as a deep understanding of cloud-native database environments in AWS.

Job Summary

We are offering a highly competitive salary of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

This role involves managing and maintaining high-availability, high-performance databases in the AWS cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration with cloud services and applications. As a key member of our database team, you will collaborate with engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize database architectures, ensuring data security, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance databases in the AWS cloud environment, leveraging PostgreSQL and other relevant technologies.
  • Develop and implement robust database security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for database optimization, performance improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data availability and business continuity.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of cloud resources and optimal database performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance database design, implementation, and management.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in PostgreSQL DBA roles, with at least 3 years in AWS RDS Postgres.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including RDS, EC2, VPC, and S3.
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, database troubleshooting, and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Expertise in database scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools, such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified Database Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified PostgreSQL DBA
