Creative Director for APAC

We're seeking an award-winning Creative Lead - Art to join our dynamic in-house APAC Creative Team at Maker Lab.
As a seasoned creative problem solver, you'll take the lead in delivering innovative and compelling creative solutions that meet client briefs. You'll be hands-on, actively supporting your team to bring ideas to life when needed. With a passion for shaping brands' reputations through outstanding creativity, you'll bring optimism and energy to our team and foster a culture of curiosity and a can-do mindset.
Your ideal candidate has a strong track record of developing and managing teams of creatives, partnering closely with brand marketing professionals, and overseeing all aspects of the creative process from start to finish. An award-winning portfolio showcasing varied work is essential. You should be confident in exploring today's creative landscape, a lover of cultural phenomena, and someone who wants to challenge the status quo and invent new ways of thinking, working, and making.
Responsibilities:- Hands-on art direction, execution of integrated campaigns/projects, leading and inspiring a small but mighty creative team, external agencies, and production teams to deliver extraordinary work.
- Direct management and leadership of a team of creatives across graphic design, copywriting, photography, motion/film, experiential, editorial, and interactive disciplines.
- Develop quarterly and annual goals and strategic plans for the team. Implement necessary processes and resources to achieve goals.
- Partner with the Head of Creative on the client's end to ensure the brand's creative vision aligns with their broader company vision and initiatives. Ensure all client creative work is supported and inspired.
- Collaborate with Strategy Lead, Operations Lead, and Exec Producers to guide team operations, including planning, recruiting, and resourcing.
- Create a blueprint for the team's continued regional growth and recruit top creatives and contract collaborators.
- Foster a respectful and collaborative environment. Mentor discipline leads on the team, ensuring alignment on all projects and both team and individual goals.
- A highly experienced leader with 12-15 years of experience managing mid to large teams, preferably from agency experience or leading in-house teams at global brands.
- An award-winning portfolio highlighting original breakthrough thinking and ideas.
- Able to pay close attention to details, as they matter.
- Possess a highly strategic mindset to connect with diverse groups across the organization and identify marketing opportunities, translating them into exciting work.
- A great partner and strong collaborator who can navigate matrixed organizations with ease and build successful relationships with stakeholders.
- Finger on the pulse of pop culture.
- Excellent management skills, inspiring creative teams with a strong vision and empowering individuals to achieve their best work.
- A strong design process and experience working towards solutions across various media.
- Flexible and dependable.
- Incredible organisational, communication, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.
- Empathy for users and individuals on a creative team.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills, ideally fluent in another Asian language to cover projects spanning key regional markets (India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia).
