Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Specialist to join our team at Razor Sharp HR and Consulting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vulnerability assessment and management, with a proven track record of identifying and mitigating security threats.
Key Responsibilities
Vulnerability Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments on a variety of assets, including IP addresses, servers, workstations, network devices, and applications.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.
- Utilize industry-standard vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies to perform regular scans and assessments.
Documentation
- Create detailed and accurate reports of vulnerability assessment findings.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all assessments, including remediation efforts and status updates.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vulnerability assessment processes.
Tooling and Automation
- Configure and manage vulnerability assessment tools to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Automate routine assessment tasks to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Stay current with the latest vulnerability assessment tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all vulnerability assessments adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures related to vulnerability management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vulnerability assessment, information security, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Open VAS, or similar.
- Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
- Experience with network security, system administration, and information security principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools.
- Ability to analyze and interpret vulnerability data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong technical writing skills for clear and concise documentation.
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
