Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Database Services team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining relational database systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database systems, including access, methods, and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology.
  • Monitor overall standards and procedures, and assist in integrating various systems.
  • Consult with users to determine requirements and recommend database establishment and utilization.
  • Collaborate with Systems Analysts and designers on procedures related to new or existing databases.
  • Develop and maintain production and non-production database environments for distributed applications.
  • Participate in product evaluations, design review sessions, data requirement meetings, and consulting with application development products.
  • Perform performance and tuning, production support, and project delivery.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in database administration, with a strong background in MySQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
  • 5+ years of production support or technology administration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with UNIX/LINUX and UNIX Korn Shell.
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure or AWS cloud.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MySQL/Cassandra/PostgreSQL/Oracle Certification.
  • Azure or AWS cloud experience.
  • Percona Server experience.
  • TSM/NetApp backup environment experience.
  • Professional experience in the healthcare industry.
