About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our team at Broadcom Inc. as a Google Cloud Platform Architect. This is a unique opportunity to work in the FinTech area of our company, providing electronic payments and banking solutions in SaaS using AI/ML to determine risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and refine cloud services consumed across IaaS and PaaS GCP services.
  • Research and identify the right tools and technology stack based on scalability, latency, and performance needs.
  • Assess technical feasibility by building rapid PoCs and finding technological solutions for gaps.
  • Understand and experience working with GCP services, including Network, IAM, Organization, Project Structure, Security, Monitoring, Logging, Compute, Storage, Caching, and more.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VPC, subnetting, VPN, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Deep understanding of GCP services, including Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and others.
  • Automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, CloudFormation, GitHub, and GCP native services.
  • Create or contribute to IaC CI/CD pipelines following DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Go, or similar.
  • Integration of GCP to Active Directory (GSuite and GCDS).
  • Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, security, and operations, to deliver robust cloud solutions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on cloud infrastructure status, performance, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with cloud vendors, customers, and internal teams for delivery.
  • Be well-versed in taking teams from legacy to modern architecture in production.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and achieve results amidst constraints.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and willingness to participate in escalated issues as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 8 years focused on GCP.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Kubernetes environment.
  • 5+ years of experience directly building Kubernetes deployments, using Helm Charts, leveraging rollout methodologies such as A/B, Blue Green, and/or Canary.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern DevOps tools and practices, including Git, Jenkins, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • 5+ years of experience with mission-critical production ecosystems.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale, distributed production systems.
  • GCP certifications are desired but not mandatory.
